I’ve been dying to post pictures of the shop and the studio, but of course I also want it to be absolutely perfect before I show anyone. So, here’s a peek at the new retail and studio space!
There’s a picture of our 4 dedicated sewing stations. Each station is equipped with everything you need to get down and dirty with a sewing or other craft project. And yep, we painted that back wall. The blue was very pretty, but we wanted a cozy, warm, and inviting color. This peachy pink is probably going to end up on my walls at home. It’s just dreamy. And see that embroidered house in the collage of images back there? We found out that it was made by the mom of one of our favorite vendors! How cool is that?!
Here’s a view of the sewing stations with the retail shop in the background. I love how the retail and studio spaces are separate now. The work stations are made up of simple Ikea tables, clamp lights, a mix of vintage and new chairs, plus all of the necessities for working: trash cans, hook for scissors, cup for pencils or thread scraps. We also added a ledge above each work station for rotating art. Right now I have a collection of my very favorite new and vintage fabric swatches.

Here’s one of our comfy chairs, which someone said felt like a hug to sit in. And the pillow? It’s a sample for our DIY Pillow class! And our beloved typewriter has a new home on a low table, so that kids can freely play with it. If you remember, this typewriter used to live in the retail area. Parents would usually tell their kids not to play with it, but of course that’s exactly what we wanted. So we moved it to a spot just for kids. We’ll be getting a ribbon for it soon so that little people can use it to type letters to each other.

And that’s half of the studio! I’ll post pictures of the other half, including our famous yellow couch, and the kids space as soon as they’re camera ready. In the meantime keep your eyes open for photos of the retail space, which gets cuter by the day. Or better yet, pop in during our new hours! We’re open Wednesdays 3- 8, and Thursday through Saturday 10 am – 4 pm.
