New Hours, New Classes, Hearts and Lovins

Update to Shop Hours

Today I realized that The Crafty Fox is less than 6 months old!  If our shop were a baby it wouldn’t even be crawling yet!  So it makes perfect sense that we are still figuring things out and discovering new strengths and challenges every day.  One of the biggest challenges for Eric and I as shop owners and parents (of a real, human baby) has been figuring out how to maximize time in the shop and meet the needs of customers and vendors while still maintaining a healthy home life.  We are finally discovering that we cannot do everything and be everywhere at once, and so we’re making some changes that we hope will enable us to run the shop more smoothly and also spend quality time with the people we love.

New Hours

Our biggest change is that we’ve decided to close the shop on Tuesdays.  Kids Craft Workshops that were previously on Tuesdays from 3 to 5 will now move to Wednesdays from 3 to 5.  Toddler Tuesdays are on hold for the time being.  This was the hardest part of our decision to close on Tuesdays.  We LOVE Toddler Tuesdays.  We’ve noticed that YOU love Toddler Tuesdays.  But as business owners we’re learning that sometimes you have to make decisions that are based less on feelings and more on real life constraints.

Awesome new classes

We may be slimming down shop hours, but we’re adding TONS of new classes!  We’re adding regular, monthly beginner knitting and sewing classes,  more project-based craft classes like sewing a dress, decoupage letters, and DIY hair accessories, plus we are super duper excited to kick off a brand new Small Business Lecture Series!  One of our goals as a shop is to support the local economy and the creative community, and we hope that our Small Business Series does just that.  This series is aimed at people with creative and handmade businesses.  First in the Series is DIY Branding with Pacific University’s Cecily Sakrison.  We’ll be continuing the series on the last Saturday of each month with topics like Pricing for Profit, Getting into the Right Craft Show, and Booth Design.  If you would like to attend our first lecture (which is FREE!) you can register here.

Thank you for XO-ing us!

We want to say again, because we feel it with our heart and soul, thank you for being supportive of our little venture.  Without customers who’d rather buy local, without students who want to learn to craft, without artists who make amazing wares we just wouldn’t be able to exist.
