Aside from fabric and office supplies, I’ve never been much of a collector of anything. Until we opened the shop. And I found a globe. It was cute. Vintage. And cheap. And then, lo and behold, a few months later I found another globe. Took that one home. I thought that it would be nice to enjoy one at the shop and one at home. But then. Guess what I found at an unnamed thrift store today? Yep. So this is how collections are born.

You know what I like about globes, besides the fact that they are AWESOME? I like that you can learn things from them. Yeah, you can look up some crazy stuff on Google street view, but your hands and your brain do something magical when you spin the globe. Seeing how close and how far places are from each other is so neat. Looking up teeny tiny countries that you’ve never heard of but wouldn’t mind discovering that you were the unnamed princess of is so much fun. If I were stuck on a dessert island I think I’d appreciate having a globe. And now I have three.
